The short version
This is a personal portfolio site. It collects two things: what you type into the contact form, and — only if you agree — anonymous analytics about your visit. Nothing is sold, and there is no advertising network on this site.
Who runs this site
levifrees.com is the personal portfolio of Levi Frees, a project manager based in Austin, Texas. Questions about anything on this page go to levijfrees@gmail.com.
What gets collected
What you type into the contact form
The contact form takes your name, email address, and message, and emails them to Levi so he can reply. Nothing else is attached, and the form is not connected to a CRM or a mailing list.
Analytics, if you accept
If you choose “Accept” on the cookie notice, Google Analytics 4 records which pages you viewed, how you got here (for example a LinkedIn link or a Google search), an approximate location derived from your IP address, and general device and browser details. This exists so Levi knows which parts of the portfolio people actually read. It is not used to identify you and it is not sold.
Cookieless traffic and speed data
The site runs Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, which count page views and measure how fast pages load. They set no cookies and do not follow you to other sites, so they run whether or not you accept the notice.
Server logs and abuse limits
The contact form and the YouTube feed endpoint briefly keep your IP address in memory to enforce rate limits (the contact form allows three submissions per hour). Vercel, the host, keeps its own standard request logs.
Who processes it
- Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — site analytics, only after you accept. Google's privacy policy.
- Resend — delivers contact-form submissions to Levi's inbox.
- Vercel — hosts the site and provides the cookieless analytics and speed measurements above.
- YouTube Data API (Google LLC) — the video list is fetched by this site's server, not by your browser, so YouTube does not see your visit unless you click through to a video.
Cookies and storage
levi-cookie-consent— not a cookie but a small entry in your browser's local storage. It records whether you accepted or declined so the notice stops appearing. It never leaves your device.theme— remembers your light or dark mode choice. Also local to your browser._ga,_ga_<id>— set by Google Analytics, and only if you accept. They tell one visitor apart from another and expire after two years.
Choose “Essential Only” and the Google Analytics script is never added to the page, so those cookies are never created.
How to opt out or change your mind
- Choose Essential Only on the cookie notice.
- Already accepted? Clear this site's data in your browser (in most browsers: the padlock in the address bar → site settings → clear data). The notice returns on your next visit and you can decline.
- Install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on to block Google Analytics on every site.
- Block cookies for this site in your browser settings.
How long it is kept
Contact-form messages stay in Levi's email inbox as ordinary correspondence. Rate-limit records are held in server memory for at most an hour and are lost on restart. Google Analytics data is retained on Google's standard schedule for this property.
Your choices
Email levijfrees@gmail.com to ask what is held about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. If you are a Texas resident, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act may give you these rights formally; the request gets honored either way.
Children
This site is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. There is no archive of earlier versions.
